I would highly recommend this game to anyone who is looking for an exciting and entertaining game starring one of the greatest sleuths of all time, Nancy Drew. It has everything a Nancy Drew game ought to have - an intriguing story, interesting characters, lovely sets, good music, moments that get your heart pounding, and plenty of German lore (including Brothers Grimm stories) woven into the plot. Overall, I'm giving "The Captive Curse" 5 out of 5 stars. Other players may well find this one easier and shorter than I did. Were releasing a stunning new edition of an old favorite: The Secret of the Old Clock, the first book in the incredibly popular, long-running series. Director: Max Holechek Stars: Lani Minella, Laurie Jerger, Gary Hoffman, Jonah Von Spreecken. This is totally fine by me - as long as I can still solve it (which hasn't been a problem with any games so far), the harder the better! Of course, this is just me. Teen detective Nancy Drew investigates when a carousel at the Captains Cove Amusement Park begins mysteriously starting up in the middle of the night shortly after one of its antique horses was stolen. I found this game a little harder than the average Nancy Drew game, and it took me several days to solve it. There are, however, a few instances that definitely made me jump. I didn't find this the scariest game I've played (Ghost of Thornton Hall, Shadow at the Water's Edge, Curse of Blackmoor Manor, and Ghost Dogs of Moon Lake were the scariest in my opinion). This game is considered a "scary game" due to monster sightings. I personally found the suspects in this game quite fascinating, and there are enough clues that I was able to guess the villain without it being too easy. The castle and the forest are a little confusing to get around in at first, but I figured it out pretty quickly.
The Secret of the Old Clock is the mystery that began it all for. Like all the Nancy Drew games, "The Captive Curse" involves exploring different areas and questioning suspects. In the early versions of the series, Nancy Drew is a 16-year-old high school graduate.
